Koen Bogers to leave Stedin Group on 1 May 2025
Rotterdam, 14 November 2024 – Koen Bogers, CEO of Stedin Group, has indicated that he will not be seeking a second term as CEO. He has informed the Supervisory Board of his intention to pursue a new challenge outside Stedin. Koen Bogers’ current term will end on 1 May 2025.
Koen Bogers: ‘Since I took up the mantle of CEO in 2021, we have achieved a great deal at Stedin. We have revised the Stedin strategy and more than doubled our annual investments in grids. In addition, we have also taken steps to make better use of our existing grids. I am proud that the central government has become a major shareholder of Stedin in order to finance this expansion of our duty to society. We have become more results-oriented in our partnerships and now work more proactively with our clients, regulators, municipalities, provinces and the central government – all this to achieve a reliable and affordable energy system.’
Doede Vierstra, chair of the Supervisory Board: ‘We respect Koen’s choice to leave Stedin at the end of his current term. Under his leadership, there has been a sharper focus on Stedin’s daunting construction challenge. In addition, we are very grateful to him for the role he played in the process of broadening Stedin’s shareholder base with the arrival of the central government as a shareholder. We therefore wish him every success in the next stage of his career.’
The Supervisory Board will now start the procedure to find a successor to Koen Bogers.
Koen Bogers: ‘I will continue to lead Stedin with great energy and carry out our plans together with colleagues until a successor has been found. The energy transition continues to be hugely interesting and relevant, and I look forward to my next challenge.’
